Young men were reached 2.3 times more than women across Meta platforms including Facebook and Instagram, even if the ads were not directly targeting men.
The age group most exposed to gambling advertising was 25 to 34-year-olds, who accounted for over a third of all unique accounts reached, a total of more than 6.2 million impressions.
They’re literally half the ads Youtube sends me. Crazy long ones too.
They’re also powerful enough that they can get a lot of ad spots on national TV channels too (France), and only have to print a tiny unreadable warning about risks, while having a giant tagline saying “The important part is winning”.

Fun fact: Australia’s youth social media ban was lobbied by crooked betting agencies so that they could run ads without restriction.
There it is. Had been wondering who the creator of this solution to a problem with many better solutions was and why this was the answer and outcome, it’s so much more base and low than I suspected.
