No, I didn’t administer this test and I did report the post and user, but I couldn’t help but watch the votes and comments it got and feel disgusted every time the “upvotes” count went up.

Hopefully it gets taken down because it’s from a troll account whose only post is that one and is to a far-right hate/conspiracy site, but for making my point here, I hope it stays a little longer because I cannot seem to get Wayback Machine to archive it.

Eighty-eight people, as of this writing, saw that post, did not even consider the sources (the RW hate site OR the brand new account that troll-posted it), and boosted it. Granted, that could have been worse as it hasn’t yet made “Top Day” but come on, people!

I get the hate for Israel right now. They’re not exactly the good guys these days (to put it mildly). But don’t let your hate boners lead you into the arms of the far right.

    I wish communities centered around memes and fun wouldn’t get infected with politics.
    I read the news daily to get my dose of depression. I’m not on lemmy to get more of it so I don’t subscribe to politics or news communities. Still I end up having to block communities (or users) that sound like they should be a fun read because they end up throwing shit in my face.
