Doesn’t mention anything about infrastructure and I’d guess that has a lot to do with it in the US. Very, very few cities are setup with any type of pedestrian traffic or public transport in mind.

Imagine Americans going to other countries and complaining that they don’t get free refills or free water and saying stuff like “if you’d just increase the cost of everything, you could afford to offer free refills and free water”
Like, I agree, tipping culture sucks and I wish it wasn’t the norm in America but IT IS and to just go there and pretend like they should change overnight for tourists is such a wild take.

This is it 100%.
I’m shocked at the amount of responses here willing to make the workers suffer so that they can continue getting their food/drinks and supporting the owners taking advantage of the system.

ah yes, put the onus on the people just trying to survive while still patronizing the restaurant that the owner continues to make profits on.
If you feel this strongly, you should boycott all restaurants that make their servers rely on tips.

Wait you take a moral stand against McDonald’s but are willing to stiff workers at restaurants and support owners that are taking advantage of them? This take makes no sense.

I really hope the rest of the world can step up and fill the void the US is leaving 🤞
That’s a great solution. It think we were talking more about people that don’t even use PCs. Older people like grandparents or other tech illiterate that maybe use a tablet at most.
Right… but the discussion is specifically about how Apple is pretty much the only consumer friendly TV device available right now. Hopefully a new, better one comes along but to your point, that one will eventually be shit too soooo idk whats the point its all going to burn
The creepiest thing mine has done is have the Peanuts cartoon screensavers be relevant to the weather in my area. Seeing Snoopy and Woodstock get blown around on a windy day is oddly nice haha
I don’t actually know its happening, I might just be more aware of the windy cartoons or rainy cartoons when I’m actually experiencing that weather 🤷♂️

I think it’s important to note that quote was from 2015.

I have uBlockOriginLite working with Safari on iOS just fine. I don’t use Firefox much on mobile because Safari works fine for me in that context but I assume it would work in Firefox too.

Not directly related to the girlfriend aspect but his quote about sycophancy with AI is good to hear:
Quite the opposite, because as you may know, if you use many of the existing chatbots, they’re really focused on engagement to a large degree. And sycophancy, right? They kind of want to pull you in. They might encourage you to reveal things about yourself, and then use that as a basis to establish a connection. We view it quite the opposite. I mean, the way that we have designed Siri, Siri really wants to say ‘Listen, that’s not what I’m here for, right? I’m here to help you. I can help you get things done. I can help you learn about the world.’ But if you try to engage Siri as a romantic partner, Siri’s not up for that. Siri’s 100 percent not into that.

Plus with Ebola it just seems extremely not worth it right now.

Ah I see, thanks for the explanation!

I’m dumb so apologies but, what’s the manipulation? Stock markets have been closed all weekend including Memorial Day. How does re-igniting the war ~12 hours before it opens affect it?

How does that relate to black market though? I’m very confused as well.

now that you mention it, probably at least one more.

Depends on context really. If you’re looking for a hosted solution similar to Github, Gitlab is much more expensive. Our team was on a self-hosted version of Gitlab but needed more change control around PR reviews and merging. We moved to Github and got that for $4 per user per month where that same functionality would’ve cost ~$30 per user per month. That’s a crazy price difference and was easily worth the migration to Github for our use case.
I hope bigger retailers jump on board with this too 🤞
