            iirc, historically, the practice of dueling eventually died out because “professionals” would go around insulting rich poofs, instigating duels against idiots with more ego than sense for easy $.

              More typically they’d go after farmers and merchants since only the elite and soldiers could carry swords and were trained to use them.

              Hand the average guy a sword, have him face a trained fighter, and he’ll be kebab meat in half a minute.
