    that depends so heavily on the situation. most of the time, in business context, it happens completely naturally that you have smalltalk 20 mins. before you think to order. without anyone making a effing mindgame out of it. rich people are the worst

    So, let me get this straight.

    We’re going to a restaurant (for food, that’s what restaurants are for) and opening the menu tells people that you’re looking for food (that’s what restaurants are for) so that you can order the food and then talk while you’re waiting for the food?

    What’s the problem here?

      agreed, the “wealthy/successful people do x” mentality in this video is the problem. not every interaction has to be about gaining some pre-supposed upper hand or asserting that you’re the main character!

    This feels awfully disrespectful to the waiter/waitress. Get your shit figured out so they can take your order instead of coming back to you four times because you spent 20 minutes at their table before you bothered to pick up a menu.

    Rich people figured out this one cool trick where you treat the people providing you services with no regard, like the peasants they are.
