How long do you spend in the shower? Do you have time to turn off your brain for 5–10 minutes? I recommend it from time to time. Sometimes I even drive to work, or especially from work, without any audio on. It’s surprisingly relaxing.
But maybe I’m talking to one of the generations who grew up with mobile phones. I imagine it’s harder for them, poor things.
I love the assumption that because I like a podcast in the shower I never turn off my brain. My brain does not turn off. I do seek silence to allow thoughts to flow and feel boredom, but some days my mind is too busy or in bad places and I want a distraction the whole day. There’s nothing wrong with that.
edit: Also, no you aren’t talking to the phone generation. Though the point doesn’t matter if you were
I deleted that because sounded way too pissy, apologies. I definitely don’t get enough time away but I have been actively trying and have noticed my brain feels clearer and calmer. Some days I do want the endless distraction though and I think that’s totally fine, as long as it isn’t every day. I did have nonstop something going for a few years and I didn’t realize how miserable and forgetful I was

Alright, man. As long as you get some type of down time, that sounds great. 👍

Ah, gosh, you didn’t have to delete it just because you felt it was “pissy” 😅 No worries 🫶
Yeah, we all have different situations and mindsets, and brain needs. I’m happy if you’re happy. Take care!
That’s great for you.
