That’s kind of the baseline for consenting to use social media though. I have hangups about unspoken tools for suppressing content. Which, I don’t think the instance I am currently on has. Not that I can tell yet if it did. It could be as you say, that there are tools currently on sopuli to do that and I just don’t know because they’re not being used.
But nobody has pointed them out and since this is all open source I assume somebody here would
Gross. Glad most of Fediverse is still small enough that it’s feasible to mod manually with small teams. I’ll keep watching piefed development though. .zip sounds interesting if they stay hands off with that kind of stuff
Well, I’ll give you one example. Piefed has tools designed to suppress new AI posters. I don’t know if other instances use it - probably not, but Piefed.social does use this. Can it get it wrong and incorrectly alert us to users who are not using AI? Absolutely. Does this bother you? Legitimately curious.
I imagine every instance has the capacity to turn some cogs to censor content, but will choose not to. Sopuli for itself absolutely is blocking some instances though.
Sure, that does sound good actually. I probably would be bothered by it if my autistic ass managed to trigger it though, which has happened often before in other places. But that’s a good point, I guess something like that working correctly would be entirely dependent on people not knowing how it works.
Wow that’s actually kind of embarrassing that I don’t even know which instances sopuli is blocking. I will go look.

A few Lemmy instances have automod bots that remove content automatically according to baselines set by the admins.
There is no way to know if an instance is running an automod except when it acts.
Sopuli does not use one as far as I know, but Piefed instances like piefed.zip don’t either.

To be fair, if a community is active enough, it makes sense to have an autobot in place, mods can’t spend 24/7 monitoring the community.
There are spammers who regularly register and post links to whatever they are advertising.

Sopuli is blocking hexbear and lemmygrad. Same as most instances.
