I can empathize with people who’ve had their internet homes serially enshittified by capitalism.

For some of us, Reddit was the first time this happened.

For some us, Reddit was the last straw.

I just hope the Fediverse is sufficiently enshittification-resistant that I don’t have to move again.

I was hurt being permabanned after 12-years. But when I got away a minute, I realized how the site was gradually turning me off with the bot replies and posts, all the same predictable replies, can’t get a word in edgewise unless the post is 2-mintues old, hive mind.

Reminds of coming home from work and finding the house trashed, wife and kids gone. I was hurt for 2 days then, “Wow. I’m a peace for the first time in years. Forgot what this was like.”

Are you posting it to start conversation here or only linking to reddit? None of these bot posts have and community involvement. I don’t have a problem with things exiting in both places, nor do I mind a return of old content. Especially with things being deleted or hidden on reddit. Nostalgia can bring new ideas and conversations as understanding changes over time.

These bots just feel like advertisements for reddit. Look what you can see if you come over here…

I came from reddit. If people hadn’t talked about Lemmy there, I might never have come here. So I think discussing censorship of Lemmy is relevant. Whether we can do something about it, is another question.

Same, and I feel like there’s a sort of culture and language commonality that extends beyond the similarities of format. No one came to Lemmy from FB posts, you know?
