I’m not talking about the openly bigoted chuds out there I’m talking about the regular rank and file Americans who decided there was no room to question the the horrors we expanded from the shadows and filled every corner of our media with.
Formerly kindly everyday american morons didn’t just watch it, they cheered. They scolded they youth for thinking we were entitled to the bill of rights. It was fucking bizarre who swallowed the bait.
After the 2000 election it was obvious that Republicans played by different rules than Democrats.
After 911 this country lost its fucking mind. Like millions and millions and millions of people just became fucking psychopaths. All of a sudden everybody was willing to split hairs on torture, child murder, forced starvation, warrantless wiretapping, indefinite detention, extraordinary rendition, double tap drone strikes The list goes on.
We became completely fucking insane. It was obvious at that point this is where we were headed. That was when I realized I needed to register as a Republican. Democrats don’t care about my primary votes if they even hold one but in my youthfully naive hope I entertained the idea that you could democratically affect anything.
Aside from the extra good feels of getting to vote against Donald Trump multiple times, The only real benefit is that I get visits from local Republican party officials and they think I’m one of them.
I always put on my home accent and complain about liberals but I don’t think they understand that they are just liberals of the God bothering type to me and I seek to dismantle them from root to stem. … … But please tell me about this canvassing operation you have in my town… What kind of cars are they driving? The police could learn to keep their distance and stop instigating violence. If you push people they’ll push back. If you’re armed expect them to not give you a chance to use your weapon.
The lesson here is let people do their peaceful protesting and you won’t necessitate violence.
This isn’t a right-wing protest, this crowd doesn’t want violence, it wants to be heard. This crowd is willing to use violence to ensure it’s right to be heard is preserved.
Until I can see some evidence that the unarmed crowd instigated violence against the armed police I’m going to consider the armed police to be the instigators since they showed up armed and then approached a crowd of people who were voicing their opinion.

I have three large disk shelves, one made from a J23 CSA connected to an perc h730 in HBA mode, one made from a super micro connected to a LSI HBA card, and one that uses a repurposed DATTO unit with its original raid card flashed into IT mode.
They are all extremely reliable, handling dozens of drives and I use only ZFS for all of my bulk storage. The best part is how much faster I can replace a dead drive with ZFS than I could with any raid 5 anything. Also, ZFS is flexible enough that you can put ssds in to use for journaling and slog.
I have one machine with 192gb of RAM and I just use the ramdisk for slog. It’s all streaming media so if it crashes only the buffered streams are lost, and this way I’m not burning holes through SSDs quite so quickly.

Yes. In many ways, China is exactly what Republicans wet dream about. A single party runs unopposed controlling all elements of government. Criticizing them is illegal. All businesses are protected by the government from uppity customers. Employees are expected to work 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. 6 days a week for few benefits with almost no workers rights…
It’s the Republican dream.
In America, our system works like this:
The police will shoot you, maybe burn your house or neighborhood down, steal everything you own, Lock you up without charges, and then if you can ever afford a lawyer to sue them you might get out of jail only to find the burned-out hole in the ground you used to live in was sold to a property developer and none of the money found its way to you.
You also owe tens of thousands of dollars in back taxes on the burned down house for the time you were in jail, but all of the money for selling the house was given to some scam artist who knew you wouldn’t be able to stop them.
You can’t afford to go to the doctor, but a third of your income is spent on health insurance. It takes 2 hours of work to afford a dozen eggs. You no longer have a car because they towed it from your driveway while you were locked up and you can’t even afford to get it out of impound despite the fact that every day the cost of storing the vehicle goes up by more than you earn.
This country is a fucking nightmare for so many people.
