Here’s the article from Amnesty on the issue. It’s from 2016 so the situation has obviously changed since then, but I doubt they’ve become more squeamish about torturing Russians especially with how widespread Russia’s own use of torture has been.

Hamas wouldn’t need to exist if Israel ended their apartheid and genocide of Palestinians. There is no “both sides” here.
What the fuck? They’re raiding people’s homes for using jailbroken TV sticks? The UK is so, unbelievably cooked
It’s pure racism. Decades of propaganda has trained people to see violence by Muslims as different from violence from other groups. People here have no issue with Ukraine torturing and executing Russian collaborators, but when Arabs do it they’re seen as violent savages who’ve been hypnotized into ultra-violence by their primitive religion.
Yes, that’s usually how you deal with collaborators and snitches when you’re at war with a much larger enemy. I don’t see what their religion has to do with it, Hamas is a nationalist anti-colonial movement, not an Islamist one.
Please. There’s never been an anti-colonial movement where collaborators weren’t punished harshly. Nelson Mandela’s ANC executed collaborators in famously brutal fashion.
They’re talking about the Popular Forces here, an ISIS-linked drug trafficking gang that collaborated with Israel during the genocide. Their leader, Yasser Abu Shabab, recently wrote an op-ed for the Washington Post, despite being illiterate. When the ceasefire was announced, Israel said they would not give give them any support or amnesty lol. Now they’re stuck in Gaza with Hamas hunting them down. Moral of the story is never become a collaborator, especially with western-backed regimes. You always end up being left hanging onto the last airplane as it takes off from Kabul.
EU and USA in a competition for who can dickride Israel the hardest:
Correct, but you’re missing the key point that all of those governments are US-backed puppet dictatorships that recieve billions in American aid to prop up their regimes. They’re being paid off for their silence on the genocide with guns, bombs and spyware they can use to suppress the people who want freedom for themselves and Palestine.
Compare the actual genocide that’s unfolding in Gaza to Xinjiang. See the difference? That’s why.
Additionally, the level of repression in Xinjiang is baseline reality for anybody living in any of the American-backed monarchies and dictatorships of the MENA region, so it’s not even considered unusual to them.
Guaido ran off to Florida and is getting paid a fat salary from the “Adam Smith Center for Economic Freedom” to give seminars nowadays. Curious that all of these “democratic freedom fighters” never stay around in their own country for long.
Venezuela’s petroleum deposits are oil sands, very deep underground under old growth rainforest. Oil sands are mined, not pumped like conventional oil, so it would require ripping up all that old growth rainforest so that they can start digging. For that reason Venezuela’s oil patch is one of the last on earth that’s mostly untapped, and you know the American government is drooling at the idea of getting their hands on it.
Here’s what mining oil sands looks like in Alberta (Canada) as a visualizer:
Considering the pivot to China, there’s likely someone at the US State Department right now with their finger hovering over the “coup” button for El-Sisi…
I dont get why the government is blocking sending the whales to China tho. If the choice is the government bankrolling Marineland, the whales being killed or the whales being sent to China isn’t selling them to China the obviously best choice? Are they worried that the big bad Chinese will steal our Whale IP?
Calling Japan a full democracy is a stretch. They’ve been ruled by one party for over half a century, and definitely not b/c they’re good at their jobs.
Liberals will ALWAYS end up siding with the Fascists to try to suppress the Left. Happened in Germany in the 1930s, and the dumbass liberals eventually ended up lined up against the same walls the communists and socialists were lined up against. If you’re a liberal today and defending this fascist suppression against Palestine Action: you’re next.
So? I support Palestine Action and all actions they’ve taken to stop the UK’s complicity in genocide. It’s illegal to say this in the UK.
The Nepali student is very likely dead and buried in an Israeli mass grave or under rubble unfortunately. All of the foreign workers were released in January.
A few facts to keep in mind in the coming weeks regarding this deal:
All of the “hostages” are really prisoners of war, everyone currently in Hamas captivity was an active duty IDF soldier captured from military bases in Israel or taken captive while in Gaza as they were committing genocide.
Hamas has offered to release all the hostages in exchange for a full ceasefire since October 11, 2023
Israel is an illegal genocidal apartheid regime that’s committed to annexing and ethnically cleansing all Palestinian land, and as such will likely try to scuttle this peace deal and blame Hamas.
It was interesting to see all the mainstream outlets suddenly talking about extrajudicial killings in Gaza like they haven’t spent the last 2 years cheerleading for an extrajudicial genocide in Gaza. The articles are all meant to present an implicit message - “look at how scary and violent these Arab barbarians are. This is what happens when you let them run their own country instead of killing them all”.
