They have been for at least the last 30 years?

I think the problem arises when the embassy says it’s fine to come, but then the traveling person’s are detained or harassed once they arrive.

There’s nothing I’m personally aware of stating trans persons to be outright illegal ( beyond the executive order(?) stating there are only two genders/sexes )

I’m not entirely sure he would care either way to be fair, but you do raise a good point.
