Yeah I do the same. Plus I’m prone to a double space which auto capitalizes the next Letter. So now I just delete the period and keep the capital letter. So people know I’m real.

I use Android voice-to-text a lot of the time, and it capitalizes the stupidest shit. It errs on the side of assuming something is referring to popular media and capitalizes based on that. Lots of random capitalization happens as a result.

Even worse? It will often get what I said correctly and then “correct” it to something incorrect.

It also almost never chooses the correct version of they’re there, you’re your, it’s its, to two too, etc.

Not so intelligent. It was better before the last big update, which was probably like two years ago at this point. I was so upset about that update.

I always thought I must have a weird voice or something because the text to speech has also never worked well for me. I was playing No Man’s Sky game. Multiplayer game. and talking to another player. And it has an auto voice to text thing that displays on the screen. I guess so people can participate in the conversation via typing. I know they also had tried to make a universal translator for players. Which was not working great last time i tried it.

But it’s been a few years

        ANYWAY

Chat was happening in a place where multiple other players were able to see or join the conversation.

This time I was verbally chatting with some guy about mission steps and it was showing me saying the weirdest shit and it read like I was hitting on him. It wasn’t even close to what I was actually saying.

I pointed it out mid convo like. “Dude did you see what the text is showing I said?”

We had a laugh about it but honestly it was a bit awkward though I knew the guy well enough we could laugh it off. Other people reading it (you can only listen in if you are connected with a mic) probably were thinking I was trying to hook up with this dude.

Im a woman player so the last thing I want is to make it look like I’m chatting up male players and open for business. 🤦

I’ve just never got it to work for me. And I’m deeply untrusting of it for causing me problems.

I swear I talk normal with minimum accent. Idk.

I don’t know if this is related, but I have noticed that my home assistant fairly regularly does not hear or understand me accurately, but it will understand my husband saying the same thing at around the same volume. Then, if I say the same thing again in a fake “man voice”, it will understand me. I wonder if they’re all trained on deeper voices.
