A foot patrol of the French unit operating within the UNIFIL reserve force came under fire from an Israeli army position while inspecting an earth barrier recently erected by Israeli forces in the Wadi Qatmoun area, on the outskirts of the Lebanese town of Rmeish, according to the National News Agency (NNA).

For real these UNFIL patrols are supposed to fight back against agression.

It is getting painfully obvious they only exist to surpress armed resistance against the occupiers.

seems to me they are there to document but not prevent. If they are there to support the occupiers as you said, why would the occupiers fire on them?

Its absurd that they dont. And that the security council countries doesnt reinforce the positions fired upon and return fire with 100 times the force. Having a veto in the Un should come with a lot of responsibilities.

I think France should retaliate in this specific situation but if their standard procedure were to take 100 eyes for an eye then the world would be burning.

Our current government is openly pro-israel and anti-palestinian, we’re not gonna do squat.
They’ve been calling any criticism towars bibi and any palestinian support antisemitic for the past 2 years - and most of the billionaires-controlled media has happily done the same.
Even if soldiers are killed, it’s gonna be labeled a communication incident or some shit.

Unfortunately I think only the foreign legion would have been likely to fire back here, and I don’t think they they do much peacekeeping.

Any country with a half-decent military would wipe the floor with Israel in a fight, but almost everyone with the ability to do that has been tamed by Uncle Sam.

    Send in the fucking Swedes.

Absolutely no shit taken by Swedish peacekeepers when either side of a conflict shoots at them.

IDF would shit their pants if they had to face actual modern warfighters. Basically all of their victories are against malfunctional ME militaries and irregular fighters, to say nothing about the base atrocities they are committing against defenseless people.

Exactly, this is something lost in propagandizing this as a war and not a genocide, the IDF does not know how to fight a combined arms conflict at infantry level nor are they motivated in a professional military sense, they have just been practicing genocide with very expensive machines of war and dropping an incomprehensible amount of bombs in a shockingly tiny area which I would imagine among other things makes you poorly mentally equipped with no mental plasticity to handle the speed and lethality of a motivated, near-peer opposing military that isn’t already conveniently contained within an open air prison.

This is going to end very badly for jews and people in general living in Israel, which among other reasons (obviously) is why the Palestinian Genocide is catastrophic.

Like without the infinite arms supply and backing of US air power dominance, an IDF brigade in Ukraine would get steamrolled by the Ukranians or the Russians for that matter.

We found out recently that a brother of a colleague was murdered in Palestine. They were part of a convoy with Red Crescent, whose location was shared with the Israelis. At least 11 people were executed and burried, including him. All ambulances and trucks were destroyed.

Yeah the USS Liberty would like some justice finally. The only thing Israel likes more than bombing it’s friends is bombing brown kids.
