I guess he doesn’t realize there are quite a lot of Jewish people around the world (including song in Israel) who consider what’s happening in Palestine to be genocide.

But then I strongly suspect there’s a lot of things he doesn’t realize. He seems quite clueless in general.

Are people asking me, as someone with principles, to turn my back on my Jewish friends? That is not going to happen – it will never happen. From the beginning of my career, I wore the Star of David … I feel very connected to the Jewish people. I’m not necessarily connected to Israel. I don’t really have an opinion on that. But the mission of music is to unite people.”

He said, after shoving his uninformed opinion on Israel and it’s ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people down everyone’s throat…

Like, it doesn’t seem that he actually supports what’s happening, it’s more like he has no fucking idea what is happening.

He doesn’t even understand that Israel doesn’t control the Jewish people.

Saying Israel is committing a genocide only betrays your friends who support the genocide, it has fuck all to do with religion.

Palestine’s issues aren’t that the people living in Israel are Jewish, it’s that the people living in Israel don’t see Palestinians as humans. They could be Christians, Muslims, or Atheists and the Palestinians would still be upset they’re victims of decades long genocide.

That’s pretty much everyone’s response to genocide, it doesn’t matter why your people are a target, you just don’t want to be genocided.

If he believes that the mission of music is to unite people, why is he writing songs that imply killing kids and civilians, and eradicating an ethnic group, is okay as long as you call it ‘war’

      That’s…not very ‘uniting’ of him

It’s okay to not be informed. Totally fine, if you don’t know about it, maybe just don’t take a definitive position on it? That’s a rational thing to do. Even more rational would be like “I don’t know enough about this, so, I need to educate myself”. Totally understandable…

What’s pretty fucking stupid, no matter what the subject, is to go “I don’t know wtf is going on… but here’s my opinion endorsing one side of it”.

The crux of the issue is in his head:

Israel = Jewish and Jewish = Israel

        Same thing with Biden.

Israel spent literal generations conflating the two and making people think they were the same. It shouldn’t be surprising when elderly people act like they’re the same.

What’s important is making sure people that still have fully functional brains understand it’s bullshit. And use it as an example for how propaganda can effect people so we don’t fall for the same thing under a different topic.

Yes but it’s not OK to have strong opinions on genocide while being uninformed about it.

        Edit:
OK, I see you got there eventually.

Last month, Boy George launched a new company called Artist Included, which will use AI to allow artists to create new versions of earlier songs which resemble the originals, as a way of wresting back control of master recordings. It launched with a new version of Karma Chameleon, which Boy George recorded then de-aged. “When I heard it, I was absolutely gobsmacked,” he told the Hollywood Reporter. “It sounds like another take from that original session.”

He’s just going all-in on the shit-takes. Probably, just desperate for people to talk about him again.

He should have did what T Swift did. Record a cover version of your album/song and tell your fans to just listen to that version.

You can shit talk her all you want but that was a smart move.

A total of 344 civilians and 34 security personnel were killed and 44 people were taken hostage.

The overall Palestinian death toll since the war started is more than 73,000

Which attacks did they minimize, Jimbo?

Are you sure you want to go “death count for death count” between Israel and Palestine? You really want to go there?

For one, we would be here all day. But two, it would become almost immediately obvious that one is larger than the other by several orders of magnitude.

Well, I dunno about this one. Ownership of master recordings and royalty agreements are a serious issue in the music industry. Bands and musicians having to make a new recording of their own songs as a way to get royalties (as in any at all) for streaming isn’t unheard of. And it’s something that goes back longer than streaming.

      https://americansongwriter.com/4-earlier-artists-who-pulled-a-taylor-swift-and-re-recorded-their-music/

So what he’s saying here (my take on what you quoted) is he’s using AI to modify his own new recording of his own song to more closely resemble the recording that some other entity has control over. Honestly I don’t mind that.

Depends largely on the training data. If it’s completely trained on music he owns the copyright to, more power to him.

Guess I have been living under a rock because I had no idea he was a pos. I mean genuinely I only know the 2-3 songs that pop up in the 80’s charts.

Old people really need to stop… most of them probably all have terrible views on lots of things, but if they stay irrelevant ill never know! This just keeps happening more and more lately and it forces me to continue building my list of everyone I lost respect for. Just stay in obscurity and this would never happen!

Being pro-genocide is not an age issue. The people getting arrested and jailed in the UK for opposing genocide include a large over-60s contingent. You shouldn’t assume that your relative lack of life experience makes you in any way superior.

Is that the same hat Prince wore on George Harrison’s hall of fame induction?

It’s a disgrace associating that hat with genocide.
