Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against anything that might be good for Greek and Greece in general. Good for them and those who choose to learn the language. It just seems a bit… misplaced?
Modern language learning apps didn’t exist in 2000. At best you’d have to order expensive Rosetta Stone CDs or start taking actual classes.
How many of these people will keep it up more than like a month and actually come somewhat proficient at the language is a different question…
The same sort of spike happened with K-Pop Demon Hunters for people learning Korean. I’d be curious to see the current statistics on how many people stuck with it.
