No I absolutely agree with you, I just don’t think they will get away with saying ‘it’s the AI’s fault’ regardless of whoever eventually gets a lawsuit against them. I just don’t. If they use that defence and it does end up working, then I’ve lost all hope in humanity
Depends on how much money they have
Thing is, the victims of the hacks are big companies with money and lawyers, too. Additionally, a legal landscape where hacking is not illegal when done with AI would be much more difficult or even impossible to conduct business in, so the entirety of the business world will have a stake in that legal outcome.
Hmm. That argument could go either way, and I’m not sure which side I think I’d agree with
