De-institutionalisation was a huge mistake in the US. While the abuses needed to be stopped, throwing mentally unwell people into the streets was a massive overreaction.
Yeah to me that decision was completely insane. Whoever did that and whoever could have stopped it but didn’t, should be locked up in the institutions.
