    The ocean is actually a big benefit. The cheapest way to move the most good possible is by ship, followed by trains, and finally trucks.

    Having sea access on both sides of Canada allows it to trade with the world. Honestly the lack of navigable waterways for trade in Canada are a bigger hindrance. The US benefits from the Mississippi river system you can run barges on deeeeep into the US for dirt cheap transport. Canada has the Hudson’s Bay but its not exactly the same since it ices over most of the year.
