As an American, I hope Canada transitions into the EU and the Euro. If things unravel further, I would like my life savings to be in Euros - and to have land access to a nation that uses them.

Why not? They seem to have nice consumer protection policies. European nations have retirement and healthcare solved too. I’m sure there are down sides, but what are they?

Besides that I fucking hate Europe what with the genocide and the colonialism? I also don’t like the idea of Canada being even more subject to economic policies that would inevitably emerge from fundamentally different material conditions and social relations. The EU would strengthen the Canadian state’s incentive to continue its genocide of indigenous and First Nations people, and further destroy this land through resource extraction. Mark Carney is already eroding First Nations sovereignty rights through his “sovereignty” fund and changes to environmental regulations, and it isn’t like Europeans of all people would put up much of a fuss about it.

Or did you expect me to only think about myself? (also, lol, “solved,” healthcare is Joever y’all)
