There’s an episode of the Drug Science Podcast about using MDMA to treat alcoholism. It was a small sample size, but the rate of sobriety at 1yr post-treatment was something like 85%, compared to 15% with treatment-as-usual.
Psilocybin and LSD were tested successfully in the late 1950s in Canada.
