We don’t want them, and we elected officials to block them. If our elected officials ignore us, and accept the bribes to build them despite what we want, then we are perfectly within our rights as citizens to burn them to the ground.

We don’t want them, and they’d better listen to us. They won’t get burned down everywhere, but there is a non-zero number that absolutely will get burned down. If enough of them burn down, they won’t want to take a chance on investing in them.

It didn’t say what companies it was. Anyone know?

For all we know it was some physics lab trying to develop fusion reactor designs.

It literally does say which companies, and the original CBC article linked says more

Completely unimportant, but straight up that broken glass looks like someone Looney Tunes’d it and ran through the glass leaving just their silhouette

Nice! Remember, if you’re anti-AI data centers for environmental reasons, you should also be vegan. Animal agriculture is a much larger plague on the environment.

Try for even longer and reduce your risk of diabetes, high BP and heart disease. Reduce your environmental impact and cease abusing animals for pleasure. It’s a fantastic way to live, my brother.

Industrial agriculture is bad whether it makes beef or broccoli

Unfortunately we need it to feed us all. Regenerative agriculture (which builds soil) is much better and requires stock animals

Animal agriculture is much worse and you’re just coping if you say different. We would use 75% less land if we stopped farming animals. We would reduce 14% of our GHG emissions. We would see a substantial reduction in our use of fresh water reserves. And most importantly, we could not exploit and murder 80 billion land animals annually, who have a right to life just like we do.

We do not need to eat animals, so that’s incorrect. Equating animal agriculture to plant agriculture is something only an ignorant person would do.

The article says it seems to have been an organized group. I wonder how one gets into such a group?

Like, do they just send somebody a private message on a decentralized platform with a link to some sort of encrypted messaging app or something?

Unrelated, my inbox is open to anyone wanting to just say hi!

    No I am not kidding.

I can’t help but wonder if these companies didn’t arrange this alleged attack themselves. Just another way to get attention and thus more investors to fleece.

Why target the students? Go for the labs that are using this tech against us.

Take out the RAMs and other vital hardware components like GPUs before burning these. AI slop has been a pain and the price increase due to chip shortage is a massive annoyance.

At first read I thought the article was talking about like university research lab. Had to click the CBC link to find out it’s building of an actual “AI company.”

Well that’s what they get for constantly going on about how AI is going to kill everybody. Genius advertising
