The European Commission is considering plans that would allow European companies to break long-term Russian gas contracts without paying penalties to Moscow, it has been reported.

    If at all, the penalties would come from Russia and probably be monetary in nature. Just stop talking to them, they have no jurisdiction and I would be very surprised to see European officials enforce some kind of Russian penalty

      If they try and claim there’s no jurisdiction, the other party might disagree. Especially if the contract has a provision that defines which jurisdiction/court is responsible for resolving disputes.
