Today, in a symbolic act, Iranians set fire to the flags of Israel and the United States, as well as an obelisk and a statue of Baal—which they described as a symbol of Satan—in various cities across Iran in response to the release of the Epstein documents.

This confuses me a little bit. I know Baal was sometimes worshiped with bull sacrifices but I’ve never seen an image of him as a bull. Also, no one still worships Baal right? Or have I been mistaken all this time?

As far as I’m aware, no on officially still worships Baal, although there might be some surviving fragments of that tradition in Tunisa oddly enough. Carthaginian beliefs pre-Christian/Islam was deeply Phoenician.

      Edit: Grammar

I am confused why they have a statue of Baal in the first place.

It seems like from what is coming out of the Epstein files that someone in the group is very into occult stuff. There are a bunch of mentions of ritual sacrifice and ritual sex abuse with Baal and Moloch being brought up. So they do all these things as bonding rituals to keep people from talking, but I am sure a few dudes take it seriously.

“Baal” just means “lord” in another language.

So most likelyit’s like arguing whether God, Allah, or Yahewah is the bestest…

They’re all talking about the same thing, just speaking different languages.

All that being said, this is a picture from lemmy.ml, it’s almost definitely bullshit.

        https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v2McpzeAOJQ

Found the video but that’s about all the information there is. I get why they are protesting, but I have so many questions about the statue and why they have it, when was it made, was it actually supposed to be Baal from the beginning or did someone just write Baal on it, etc.

Seems like if if somewhere in Greece there was a statues of Zeus portrayed as a deer or something with Zeus written across the front.

Both the Obelisk and Baal are assotiated with satanism, The Obelisk is way more famous and way more used, Baal is an ancient Canaanite spirit who represents elite corruption and requires child sacrifice from his worshippers, Jeffery Epstien even named his bank account Baal. Which was seen in the release of the Epstien files.

Moloch (seemingly derived from the words for King and Shame) was the one who required child sacrifice. Baal was a storm god, like Zeus. Often considered the chief rival of Yahweh (YHWH) during the Jewish conquest of Canaan as they were, at the time, both storm gods.

Yes Moloch is linked with child sacrifice too, some sources also accuse Baal-associated cults of similar practices and cannibalism.
