One is a wire, one is a cable. One transmits electric energy, one transmits kinetic energy.
Both are technically cables though. One, a power cable, the other a steel cable.
Drive by wire uaually refers to steering though the official definition is more broad.
We don’t say “injection by wire” or “fuel by wire” though, we call it Electronic Fuel Injection.
Throttle by wire.
The fuel is never really actively controlled by the user, more by its relation to the amount of air going into the intake.
