She’s the perfect lobbyist pet - as is the charismatic B(lack)undeskanzleR(ock). Her target audience is in her name.

“It’s as if cash did not exist, and the industry argued it was unfair because merchants have to accept it, and users don’t pay a fee,” Peter Norwood, a researcher at Finance Watch, a European non-profit that aims to reform finance in the public interest, told Euronews.
“Cash is a public good. That is what the digital euro is meant to preserve in the digital age.”
The only obstacle to this very great thing are the lobbying bastards who just want to continue hoarding cheap money. And it appears there one Spanish ex-banker - Navarrete - in the EPP sweating since years to slow it down. I wish him all the worse.
Why do Europeans vote more and more self interested pricks who work actively against European welfare? The idiocy.

Europe is actively rowing against an inavoidable - because so much better there isn’t even a contest - change just because manufacturers slept and gorged on a couple of decades of thick profits abroad and taxpayer funded lifelines when they shamefully struggled. The US is broadly worse, while also having some promising companies like Tesla and maybe Rivian that could really make a difference

I would point more to the disruptive nature of EVs and the stale stance of overlobbied/-lobbying western car manufacturers. Tesla shows that you can sell a boatload of EVs without solely relying on China manufacturing. The western car politics are plainly anti-consumer and China paved their way to be the leader in a sector that doesn’t exist anywhere else.

Fair indeed, I just always try to ridicule those 4-wheeled stinky ego caresses, this time didn’t turn out as well as I wished ;)

As easy as making a U-turn with a US garbage truck Ram 1500 in an Italian village

Ape brain Autobahn mentality. Thank you (Sch)Merz.
How about fixing the disastrous German train network?
The fighting is sadly required to counter the slowing down by lobbying

I despise this German government and was let down by the previous one. In a time when Spain shows courage and stands by sane principles on the international field, other EU countries “average out” the blocks diplomacy to a middling damage reduction at all costs (whose actual costs in the long run are to be seen…). As said, what comes out of their mouth is just distraction: facts show what they are really accomplishing (or not).

Words have less and less relevance in this political chaos driven by the US: in a week the Trumpet will sing praise of Spain, then again criticize it. Merz is a hollow man, but it’s a moot point to argue in the White House. Let facts speak (I’m not saying facts will draw a better picture, unfortunately, just look at where money and contracts go and not what farts these lowly men exchange in their high thrones)

Wait, you can not-shoot boats without proper evidence and still capture drug shipments?!

Well, “plan to legislate” is something more of a hope lifeline than a true sign, I’m talking more of actual implementations, but I see your point.

Good, but it will be hard and slow after decades of lacking foresight. The fact that we stuck ourselves in this situation is crazy. I really hope Europe gets a big enough shock to start think again, but I’m not really seeing signs of it…

I’m concerned that anybody could think such spearheaded attacks could bring anything but chaos. I agree on Greenland, kidnapping a high value target with a flashy operation has nothing to do with conquest. Successful US dominance was based on diplomacy, imo Trump overrates military supremacy once deprived of diplomatic credibility.
I also hate how they completely block the view beneath them, because in addition to being huge, they have small windows and usually tinted.
Driving a large vehicle by itself shouldn’t be a huge deal, what worries me is how fast the driving behavior is worsening: both as a driver and a cyclist, I see my share of appalling situations…
