Well. I stand at least somewhat corrected. The SWIFT usage seems experimental right now, but Kinexys is clearly in use in production.

OK, I’ll bite… Do you have any links to specific banks detailing their use of blockchain to make transfers to other banks?
You may work with banks that are experimenting with it, but it’s not going to replace things like SWIFT any time soon.
Except no it’s absolutely not. They use systems such as ACH and the Federal Reserve Wire Network. For international transfers, they use systems like the SWIFT network.
Why add a crypto middleman to transactions like those?
Rien ne va plus.
He hates being at the White House, with all the rules and procedures that have to be followed there. He’d much prefer to engage in open corruption without all that red tape.
It actually started the day after the election. People are actively searching for ways to escape this shit-hole country.
I know I am.
The answer is always going to be, “Because you’re running the incredibly bloated Windows operating system.”
Is… is that real? Is this really the world I live in?
I had to double-check. It’s a real story, being carried by real news outlets.
It’s a very big “if,” though. Europe has a lot of work to do.
But with the United States falling to fascism and despotism, there’s no one else to step up. And I doubt Europe has any illusions about the size of the threat Russia poses, so they have every incentive to halt Russia’s expansionist goals there in Ukraine.
Putin once said Russia’s borders don’t end anywhere, a very telling sentiment: He doesn’t believe anything but Russia should get to exist. A country that doesn’t respect its own borders is a threat to all of its neighbors.
And because of its expansionist goals, its neighbors are the entire world.
So… Europe is going to massively step up support for Ukraine. It’s possible that unlike the United States, Europe will have no reservations about giving Ukraine everything it needs to not only hold Russia back, but to outright win.
An unambiguous win for Ukraine would almost certainly culminate in the death of Vladimir Putin and a full, systemic collapse in Russia. At this point, Russia is all in on destroying and taking over Ukraine, and if it can’t, it’s basically got nothing else to fall back on.
That’s the thing I’ve been most worried about. The media have largely capitulated out of (justifiable) fear of reprisal and violence. The fear is legit, but we depend on the media to speak truth to power especially when democracy is on the line.
This is why I no longer believe this will end without violence.
Twice. They did it twice.
Headline in six months: Salesforce Hires Software Engineers After Realizing Middle Managers Don’t Know How To Turn AI-Generated Code Into Actual Applications
Being a software engineer is a hell of a lot more than just the actual act of writing code.
Sounds like some deeply, deeply internalized self-hatred going on there.
Holy shit, he actually said that.
This, right here, is a prime example of a political headline that looks like it comes from The Onion.
Arch Linux user here to say… Ubuntu’s fine, man. Love all the derivatives that can take advantage of the core Ubuntu system (e.g., Mint, which I’ve installed for family members).
I love Arch. I use it all the time. I will not inflict it on any family members.
Yeah… The moment they do that is the moment I turn off and disconnect every smart speaker I own, take them to the electronics recycling place, and start building out an open-source smart home setup.
I use commercial smart speakers because they’re easy and cheap. The moment they stop being one or the other is the moment they stop being in my home.
Nah. It’s not almost like that. Nope. It’s exactly that.
This is weaponized incompetence and stupidity.
