What I don’t understand yet: custom ROMs don’t need that dev verification. Everybody cries now, that F-Droid can close shop, if Google comes through. But why? F-Droid would still be the #1 distribution platform for de-googled ROMs. So why this “that would kill F-Droid” sentiment?
I mean, yep: it is a shitty move by Google, but who expects non-shitty moves from Google these days? Of course they will punish and oppress their customers. That is what Big Tech is here for. If anything we ought to help those users.
Problem was IMHO that it wasn’t a midnight train at all. I just wanted to book it recently. Left Paris at 7pm, arrived in Frankfurt at 3am. Like, I could not have dinner in Paris that evening and am stranded in the middle of the night.
They had (a long time ago) a perfect night train service Frankfurt-Paris, which was always full when I took it. I just think that adjusting times for Frankfurt instead of Vienna and Berlin would have made more sense, as Frankfurt is comparably well connected and central. So you could arrive in Frankfurt at a normal time and be in any other major city early afternoon.
Then again, I didn’t see a good reason to attack Ukraine. I distintively remember that before the invasion, there were these reports of 180k Russian troops amassing at the border and I was damn sure, that Putin won’t attack, 'cause…you can’t conquer Ukraine with only 180k soldiers. But here we are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So, who knows what that madman is doing for what reason.
Awesome, thank you. Then I’ll give it a try, that would solve a headache of several years.
Question for the Immich users: if I have two users A and B, who share all pictures. Can user A create an album with pictures from user B? That doesn’t work with Nextcloud and is grinding my gears!
Well, that is how I started out. Docker was not around yet (or not mainstream enough, maybe). So it is basically a legacy thing.
My main machine is a Frankenstein monster by now, so I am gradually moving. But since the days when I started out, time has become a scarce resource, so the process is painfully slow.
That tool also saves a copy of the website. But I also do not use the browser bookmarks and a tool, that only syncs bookmarks. And that is the reason: syncing, so I have all the bookmarks on all devices.
But they do it with British understatement, that’s why nobody around the world notices it. It’s not as shrill, when people sipping tea say things like “Jolly, they invited our neighbours to the conci-tuffy-encampment. I reckon we won’t having them over for tea that soon. My, my!”
I mean, Email is twofold. Like running the server and getting inbound email: just as easy as all the other services.
Outbound? That shit can be difficult, near impossible on residential. But as outbound mail is kinda “lost” anyway in a privacy sense, I would not feel too bad about using a relay.
