Yes fortunately I had the bios password, so I was able to manage it. I work remotely. To IT it just looks like the machine vanished. They haven’t asked me about it.

This was also on my work machine. I had to use some utilities to extract my windows key and change some stuff in the bios to disable bitlocker, so it was not a small job but it’s increased my productivity a lot.

I installed with a local windows 11 account using Rufus and I have no ads. Also went back to old taskbar using StartAllBack. It’s just a good old windows box again. Really works nicely.

At least we have something to be happy about in this hellscape.

Despite him being a tech bro and everything, I do think we need more shows like Star Trek these days to show us what a functional future with technology could look like. I think the only examples we see any more in popular culture are dystopian, and I think we are starting to believe that those are the only possible outcomes of the path we are on. Even Star Trek these days is pretty dark.

If I felt it was the best way to save my country from destruction, yes I would. I wouldn’t let him act against the best interests of my country, but I would kiss his ass if I thought it would help. From everything I’ve seen, Stubb is staunchly against Russia’s imperialist ambitions, so unless he’s really just blowing hot air about that, I doubt he will just go along with Trump’s current plans for Europe.

What’s your beef with Stubb?

Stubb seems like a levelheaded guy who knows what’s up. He has a whole channel of YouTube videos explaining his positions, and he’s mostly got the right idea about economics and geopolitics IMO. Yes, he’s kissing Trump’s ass, but I think he’s doing it to keep things on track in Europe as much as possible.

Their success rate would have been a lot higher if they had known when to stop ;-). I think if the stated goal of defending Europe from Russia doesn’t change that they have a very good chance of success given the numbers they are talking about.
