According to these reports, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is said to have intervened personally to stop a billion-euro fine against the US giant Google, which had already been planned, at the last minute.
I think this makes sense from the commission’s point of view. If the EU fines google and washington hears of it, that could be the start another trade war with the US. People will really care about that and blame the commission even if they acted reasonably. If they block the fine normies will not care and they can go on with their jobs as usual. I think its wrong to assume google will not go crying to trump if they get fined and beg him to impose more tarriffs (which we all know trump hates doing /s), so if you are in favor of the very much deserved fine you have to accept the risk of a trade war too. Politics sucks man.
They can shut about the rule of law then. I hope all these sellouts get exposed and removed from office
is said to have intervened personally
… to turn the whole Europe into a banana republic?
She was removed from German politics and disposed of at the toxic waste dump for bad politicians that is the EU commission over being too openly corrupt and incompetent for domestic purposes after all.
Her reason better be that the fine is ten times to small and needs to be upped!
*too small
Her reason is either that she gets some money or one of her many children “work” for google.
