Because both of those items are prepared in specific ways that very much do not constitute ‘folding a pizza in half.’ For example, a panzerotti as I understand it are small, sealed pies that are commonly deep-fried. A calzone as I understand it is another kind of pie, larger, sealed and then baked up.
Now if this is meant as a c/ShittyFoodPorn post like something a frat or dorm-bro would come up with, then rock on I guess, altho it’s still not in the right sublemmy as I see it. But whatever, that’s just me!

Because a calzone is not simply folded-over pizza.
I may describe it a like a small round pizza folded over on itself then baked - for someone with no idea, but they are very different things
Calzone has no sauce in it, for one thing.
Because they’re baked, they have a very different texture and flavor profile than pizza.
This is like saying an omelette and scrambled eggs are the same thing. They aren’t.
