Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Thursday unveiled a plan for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza’s Palestinian population, which he and other Israeli ministers refer to as “voluntary migration,” a day after Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the removal of Palestinians was the only “real solution” for Gaza. Ben Gvir dubbed his […]

Thing is, you can’t trust anything coming out of Israel currently, even more so than usual (which is saying something). It’s election season and politicians won’t let little things like reality get in the way of campaigning.

That’s not to say that what politicians like Ben-Gvir say isn’t important insofar as it can help you understand how they think, but it’s not necessarily connected to anything actually going on.

I still can’t believe an anti war website title it this way. This has clear definition of genocide.

They will get on the trains or buses, or planes or boats, thinking they are being exiled. They will be killed.

I think a better solution to deter others would be to have a public sterilisation without medication, then had to stand there, bleeding while the public gets to throw shit at him, THEN hung inn the streets. Let them feel pain and embarrassment as the last fucking thing they feel.

Almost like years of seeing people abused and murdered while their houses and business are razed to the ground can radicalize people.

Exactly! They say that when you get older, the more conservative you get. I’m the god damn opposite, and I live in Denmark, own a house etc. I literally cannot complain, as I am myself in the 1% (of the world), but I’m just so fucking tired of the inequality that exists in the world. And I mean everywhere: from the local community to the global stage. It’s tiring, and I do not believe that we will get rid of the evil without evil. It’s been tried again and again, but there is always some fucking plutocrat that always wants more power.

The king of Norway is dead, the current king has baggage with his family. I think the monarchy should be dismantled, and Norway should implement something similar to what Switzerland has.

That expression about the older we get the more conservative was explicitly for boomers who reaped immensely from runaway neoliberalism. Millennial and Gen Z have had nothing but worsening conditions. I expect that saying to age out. We are radicalizing. I followed the same path as you. A decades proud reformer. But neoliberalism cannot be reformed.

Not as long as most of the world turns a blind eye to it.

People are mostly against Israel’s genocide at this point. But the individualsin charge of various governments haven’t.

Not electing the lady who was lukewarm on Palestine sure seems to have helped them!

At least we get a riviera and a trump hotel!

The color of blood red. The only difference between Harris and Trump is that trump want to profit from genocide while Harris wanted israel to do whatever it want in Gaza

Her and biden blamed hamas for the lack of cease fire when israel was the issue, hmas literally offered to return the hostages from the first day. They didn’t use their power to stop israel

Is there a big difference between letting Israel destroy Gaza to build things for future colonizers and colonies, versus letting them destroy Gaza and then having Americans build a Riviera in it?

Hey buddy, maybe take your internal US politics to a US politics comm. Not every topic is an opportunity to take jabs at other Americans about your last election.

There’s support for Israel (the unconditional part you made up) and there’s transforming Gaza into a riviera to build a hotel. Neither is good, but there’s levels of bad.

Ben Gvirs idea is still insane, tho…

Yeah I just feel like after 9/11 America invaded Afghanistan and Iraq with popular support:

Even before his speech, Americans were inclined to believe the worst about Hussein’s regime. In a survey conducted a few weeks prior to the State of the Union, 73% favored military action in Iraq to end Hussein’s rule; just 16% were opposed. More than half (56%) said the U.S. should take action against Iraq “even if it meant U.S. forces might suffer thousands of casualties.”

          https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2023/03/14/a-look-back-at-how-fear-and-false-beliefs-bolstered-u-s-public-support-for-war-in-iraq/

          And remember at the time

On 15 February 2003, a coordinated day of protests was held across the world in which people in more than 600 cities expressed opposition to the imminent Iraq War. It was part of a series of protests and political events that had begun in 2002 and continued as the invasion, war, and occupation took place. The day was described by social movement researchers as “the largest protest event in human history”.[1]

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/15_February_2003_Iraq_War_protests

And Iraq and Afghanistan had the shit kicked out of them anyway with Dick Cheney acting as a Ben Gvirs type character

Nothing galvanises support for military action quite like a nation that has been attacked, and Oct 7th was the perfect in its genocidal massacres of kids dancing at a music festival:

Shortly after the October 7 attacks, there was broad support in Israeli society for military operations in Gaza.[690][691] A public opinion poll conducted in December 2023 by the Israel Democracy Institute found that 87% of Jewish Israelis supported the war in Gaza.[692]

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_war

I just don’t know if the gamble Hamas took with Palestinian lives has paid off in a way they hoped it would (and who knows maybe in 20 years time after spending 10 trillion zillion dollars Israel will pull out of Gaza as well)

          thanks!

The party promises emigrants an “absorption package” including “assistance with travel, initial housing, vocational training, employment and support for up to 24 months,” as well as payments to host countries based on the number of Gazans they take in. Turkey, Ethiopia, the Congo and unspecified Arab countries are being considered as potential destinations, according to the party.

Sounds like this could work for a significant number of people:

JERUSALEM, May 6 (Reuters) - Almost half of Gazans may be willing to apply to Israel to help them leave to other countries, according to a survey on Tuesday that also showed significant support for anti-Hamas protests.

The most anti-semetic thing one can say is that Jews are something related to the new Nazis running Israel.
