Many such Republicans skipped the convention, including Representative Tom Barrett of Michigan, Senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska and Senator Susan Collins of Maine, all facing strong Democratic challengers this fall.
In every debate, in every ad, they need to say:
“My Republican opponent doesn’t even like trump, but would enable him simply by contributing to majority”.
Don’t let them just pretend they’re different than trump, the most important thing is majorities and everyone running with an R by their name will caucus with Republicans and do whatever trump wants.
Don’t let them have it both ways
Make it $10K, and I’ll consider it, but I want 50% up front.
(Fuck this treasonous pedophile, I’ll take his money, and still vote for the most Commie candidates I can find)
This can’t be legal, right? Either way, keep pumping that national debt!
You should post this in another sub. Internal US news are not allowed in World News, it’s in rule #1.
Not United States Internal News
So essentially he’s giving back the $5,000 he already robbed from every American from his fucking stupid war with Iran raising gas prices, his tariff wars, etc.
Don’t be silly. He won’t give anyone any money.
Oh, I totally agree. Just thinking hypothetically. Donald Trump doesn’t give an absolute fuck about anybody except for him and his own.
Why is this downvoted? This is an absolutely insane abuse of the rules of democracy.
And apparently the story is true and confirmed by other media:
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c62kzr1jg0joUS internal news.
OK I missed what sub it is in.
For people complaining this is internal news, I should think the leader of any “democratic” nation offering to openly bribe the populace to stay in power - amidst an illegal war - would be something to pay attention to. Just like German internal politics getting weird and making world news.
I understand the overall anti-American sentiment and can’t say I’m upset with anyone for feeling that way given how my government has handled itself internationally. However, this one is a big deal. Change the names to a British or German or French PM and party and suddenly it’s appropriate again?
My point being some things will have external repercussions despite being internal debates - Brexit being an example of an internal debate with global consequences. Or, y’know, Trump being elected. Again.
This is exactly why I posted it here. Pretty hard to argue that another Trump term (or a Trump adjacent individual being elected) via this violation of basic democratic principles would not have global implications.
it was not immediately clear how the payments would work.
It’s obvious, isn’t it? He never pays.
I have my principles. My vote wouldn’t go for anything less than $25,000.00 /s
Whatever happened with the $2000 tariff dividend?
If this one doesn’t work out, does he double it every time?
