It becomes shit in the large intestine. Before that, it is kind of food leftovers mixed with intestinal liquid. Does not even smell like shit at that point, just more or less like food, still.
Seems like it, though I have not looked into that. I just have a lot of personal experience, with the small intestine pre-shit, because I have an ileostomy.

Really? Then why does puke smell so awful? Is it all just stomach acid making it stink like that?
