Hopefully the people that supported this see it as the true grift as it is, feel insulted by being deceived by their worshipped one, and turn on him with all the powers of their wallets supporting them. Then they eat each other.

I know that a lot of Americans could lose some weight but there is a difference between dieting and not being able to afford food.

I don’t think that’s true. But poorer people tend to have less time available to cook.

Are you saying vegetables, meat and rice are more expensive per serving than pre-packaged food where you live?

I’ve gone to frozen and canned veggies over fresh. Fresh costs nearly .75 more per item, and seems to spoil faster now (I’m assuming due to labor shortages). Taste is a bit off, but I need to save. Come Spring I’ll grow some of my own, and hit the Farmer’s Market from time to time. But so many growers in my area are now selling at “bespoke” prices. $10 for a small brown bag of apples as an example. Due to them being rarer found varieties.

Same answer as to CXORA above. From my experience quality food is usually more expensive. You can also compare something healthy you cook vs something unhealthy you throw into microwave.

You are being overly dramatic here with your statement!

The only difference between eating 50grs of chicken a day because you are on a diet and eating 50grs of chicken a day because that’s what you can afford is merely conceptual!

You are taking this with the wrong attitude! The Great Leader is making the prices go up so your weak will doesn’t have any problems to stick to a diet that will make you thinner!

If they want to make me to eat that little they should at least make insurance cover GLP-1s ffs.

This is healthier and cheaper: you don’t take a drug that has side effects and they don’t have to spend tax money to pay for the drug.

See? They really are thinking of everything! You’ll eat less and you won’t have a tax increase because you won’t need a subsidized drug to achieve it!

See why The Great Leader is president and you don’t? He devised this masterful plan and you are unable to see “the bigger picture”! I bet you couldn’t ace the many cognitive tests The Great Leader takes monthly as he does.

Reading the title made me think this is something they are preparing for school lunches or for prisons and thought it was bad. But the reality is even worse, they are expecting average Americans to prepare this feast for themselves at home.

They don’t have that much money for school lunches. They have to make due with less.

Realistically the US food prices are only possible with cheap undocumented labor. The whole ICE debacle probably doesn’t help the domestic food production.

In fed prison we were fed more than that for less. Though it turned out we were getting cow hearts, horse meat, and other stuff not fit for human consumption. But boy did they brag about the savings.

As stupid as this statement was from the AG secretary all the Democratic legislators jumping on it with AI images is pretty dumb too. You’re telling me you couldn’t get a staffer to make a shitty meal and post a photo? Come on.

As someone living on a tight food budget, it’s still possible to stretch 3$ WAYYYY further. Prices are bad, don’t get me wrong but this kinda seems like performative bs

It’s starting to get really area dependent. At this point even rice from the Asian market and beans is pretty firmly out side of the 3 buck range for a proper portion for each meal in my area unless your actively starving yourself.

$3 used to go a lot further before the Annoying Orange Pedophile fucked shit up. $3 was enough for a whopper at BK, which means $3 was a lot more groceries.
