Fictional characters don’t matter
What are you talking about?
… Leo isn’t fictional.
The pope is a hoax and always has been
There is no Easter Bunny, there is no Tooth Fairy, and there is no Pope of Catholicism.
The position of Pope has been used to send many people to their death primarily in the middle ages. Julius II was called the Warrior Pope, he was the first and only pontiff to command and lead a papal army into battle. 1503 - 1513 and then there were the Crusades
I’ll give the orange moron an hour or two to produce an all caps posting on his sewer of a platform, calling Leo a “Fake Pope”, claiming the papal election was ‘rigged’ and threatening to bomb the Vatican unless they offer him the papacy.
I don’t think the evidence is clear that god rejects prayers more for sociopaths than everybody else.
Evidence based religion 😂. Good one.
I guess that’s what we call atheism.
But there has been real studies on the efficacy of prayer, and when it turned out to be negative! Such studies suddenly stopped.
Or God simply doesn’t exist and we as a species need to deal with our own problems
Yes by rejected equally I mean always rejected, exactly because god doesn’t exist.
Some claim that the reason we can’t see the effect, is because god doesn’t reveal himself.
Funny thing is though, that a study on how prayer works for sick people showed they actually got worse!
So there isn’t even a beneficial psychological effect, it’s actually negative.
If god was working without revealing himself, there is no reason it should be worse.
So when people claim there is no evidence against the existence of god I disagree.
There is no evidence that a god exist, but there is actually evidence against the existence of the Judaic god.
Also the complete lack of evidence for the existence of a god, is evidence that the existence of a god is highly unlikely.Funny thing is though, that a study on how prayer works for sick people showed they actually got worse!
Uuh, is it because they refuse other types of treatment? That is a pretty important distinction. I don’t believe for a second that just praying magically makes you more sick.
Nope exact same treatment, apparently the psychological effect of knowing that people are praying for you makes it worse, all else being equal.
Maybe, but I think sociopaths have a real “ok, well fuck you, too, then. I’ll do/get it myself!” mentality when it comes to God.
In the old testament, there were occasions where god supported one side in a war.
God supports atrocities as long as they’re perpetrated by followers, rather than against them.
“If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” – Psalm 66:18
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.” – Isaiah 59:1-2
“If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.” – Proverbs 28:9
"When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil. – Isaiah 1:15-16
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” – 1 Peter 3:12
Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered. – Proverbs 21:13
“The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” – Proverbs 15:29
He’s got a pretty solid basis for that claim.
If those Evangicals could read they’d be very upset.
The Evangelicals Creed
“I believe in God, the Father Almighty maker of heaven and Earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord. Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, never did or said anything important, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried…”
PSALM 140
1 Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; Preserve me from violent men, 2 Who plan evil things in their hearts; They continually gather together for war. 3 They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; The poison of asps is under their lips. Selah
4 Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from violent men, Who have purposed to make my steps stumble. 5 The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set traps for me. Selah
6 I said to the Lord: “You are my God; Hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord. 7 O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have [a]covered my head in the day of battle. 8 Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked; Do not further his wicked scheme, Lest they be exalted. Selah
9 “As for the head of those who surround me, Let the evil of their lips cover them; 10 Let burning coals fall upon them; Let them be cast into the fire, Into deep pits, that they rise not up again. 11 Let not a slanderer be established in the earth; Let evil hunt the violent man to overthrow him.”
12 I know that the Lord will maintain The cause of the afflicted, And justice for the poor. 13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; The upright shall dwell in Your presence
Sounds like the opposite might be true, and it’s OK to pray for the death of evil men.
This just shows that the bible isn’t a coherent story. On many topics it is near impossible to say what position the bible takes, because it was writen by different men in different times with different agendas. Often, as in the present case, positions contradict each other.
Every denomination of christiantv is negotiating with the bible and chooses what to leave out, what to include and what to interpret how. This is driven by their specific dogmas, that are often post biblical.
This just shows that the bible isn’t a coherent story.
The Gospels don’t even agree on basic details.
“One of his disciples, the one whom Jesus loved (AKA me), was reclining at his side.”
– The Gospel According to John
God seems to grant the prayers of pedophiles though, so I guess it cancels out.
God rejects all prayers because they don’t exist.
Blasphemy! Trump was saved by God, so obviously what he does is God’s will

-People who want The Bible to be Put into Law!
There is a theological debate happening for the soul of the country happening, and there has been for centuries. You can not want that to be true, but I find the more effective solution is to recognize that it’s there and try to empower the good ones to go in and have the conversations I most certainly am not going to have. Let them go argue about it on my behalf. Challenge laws using that strategy. We need the religions that have sway here to be good, friendly, just religions because they have real sway - the catholic schism has not been this pronounced in modern memory and it’s good the Vatican is issuing wholehearted decrees about very specific things and people. This comment was about Pete Hegseth, by the way, telling people he prayed to God for the violent destruction of his enemies. Yeah go Mr. Pope, tear that up. I’m here for it.
Burn! (In hell)
Lol, who says the leaders who wage wars even pray?
I think the Pope was responding to this:
Peter’s no leader. I doubt anyone would willingly follow him for anything.
Crusaders: Is Deus Vult not the way of our Lord, your holiness?
Hypocrisy? In the Catholic church?! They wouldn’t dare…
Well ig someone’s trying to fix Christianity’s image.
But not child molesters, apparently.
Because if it did there wouldn’t be a little Catholic club.
