I’m talking about people that are accountants that now thing they can create software. Or engineers who think they can now write legal briefs for court.

I don’t have a problem with LLMs as much as the way people use them. My boss has offloaded all of his thinking to LLMs to the point he can’t fix a sentence in a slide deck without using an LLM.

It’s the people that try to use LLMs for things outside their domain of expertise that really cause the problems.

There is an assumption these people are making that I am not sure they are aware they are making. They are assuming the cost of running YouTube is increasing so the cost of YouTube premium needs to increase. Every public company is driven by maximizing share holder value, the goal is to extract as much money as possible from the user.

I am not going to shit on the man. His views and opinions about free software are worth knowing and understanding. I just would invite home to a dinner party or ask his opinion on any other topics.

I agree with most of Stallman’s views on proprietary code. However, the one time I met him in person I found him to be off putting. I am not going to get into details because this is the internet and I know how people are.

The hardest part will be the second condition. The software publisher probably has all kinds of disclaimers in their EULA to cover this one. It also depends on how the software presents the information to the user.

I am sure they are also seeing a growing demand for more privacy, the only reason own a pixel is because of GrapheneOS. If I could buy a phone with the OS pre installed I would, don’t know if they are going to do that. Also, by patterning with GrapheneOS they don’t has the development cost and they can trade on Graphenes name
