These kinds of comments are how I know lemmy users know nothing about my country but must support the populist goverment masking as a leftist.

Same, honestly it seems like a very malicious post to paint lemmy as a victim instead of something that keeps digging it’s own hole.
But nobody seems to want to fork the software for some reason.

To add to this, the blocking features on PieFed are more robust, granular and ACTUALLY FUCKING WORK, which allow users to completely block ml/grad/hex along with the users from the instances.
Contrary to lemmy where blocking instances at user level doesn’t block the users and you still see their posts if they crosspost to another instance that federates with them.

Ya’ll need more fiber in your diets…

Not that I can remember, only the numerical pad with letters.
I think it wasn’t a thing because it was about keeping devices practical and portable… But that ship already sailed and sinked so I’d be up for something bulky but practical or just going back to numerical pad with letters.

To add to the other comment, the fucking blocking functionality just works.

On Lemmy it’s half assed so you can’t completely defed/block:

• If someone crossposts it to another instance it appears on the feed
• If you (as a normal user) block an instance you still see the crossposts and their users

On piefed you have many block options and they just work.

It’s the fediverse, signal is sacred and will not be questioned nor criticiced, anyone else who wishes to have a non-US instant messenger gets downvoted to hell.

I personally don’t use it, it’s much more suspicious that other messengers get so much flak and signal is defended so fiercely… And it’s also USA based.
