I thought nuclear was slow to ramp up and down and basically has to operate 24/7, providing a baseload. Batteries otoh are the quickest source to respond to surges from my understanding. Renewables+batteries are have been cheap enough for years that they’re also good for baseload.

There’s an emergency call thing for calling 911 (or whatever it is in your region?) or ICE contacts I believe.

Next revision lead to invading Antarctica to hold them responsible for the attack on US.

A tactical nuke within a nuclear bunker could be useful if you wanted to target people important enough to be in that bunker? Perhaps he had the thought of doing such…

If there’s no traffic, it goes from 10-15 minutes to ~1+ hour (most of which is outside of the buses). Ebiking is great though (~40 minutes and not as affected by traffic - sometimes its faster than driving because of that).

Men, some subgroup of men in particular, are at a higher risk of false accusations than of sexual assault.

Are they? The former seems pretty much unheard of while the latter ain’t uncommon. I think the only subgroup of men where the risk of being “falsely” accused of SA is high are men who commit SA and just don’t believe it is SA. Of course perception of risk can vary and the (perceived) severity of the event matters as well.

Always seems weird when people are more worried about accusations than sexual assault/harassement. The latter seems far more common ime, even if you are seen as a guy.

California still has plenty of people who are far right - outside the cities. And places like Texas still have people who are relatively to the left… who live in cities. Despite the fact that cities are where the jobs are and why a lot of people live in places like Texas.

That’s true of all names. Names are still a form of identification. But it doesn’t authenticate that you are a specific person.

Is anyone at threat of prison time or at least fines measured in the 100’s of billions, if not trillions?

Curious how many people have done something like that before sound machines and fans. Granted, there’s plenty of natural outdoor noise in many places, so probably unnecessary.
