With respect, if you cannot notice a difference between 720p and 4k on a 4k compatible screen, then you do indeed have something wrong with your eyes.

Except my specific Fitbit 😭

I’ve read this exact comment a hundred and one times before you just wrote it. The average end user does not care. We are a vocal minority.

If something in a headline is in quotes, it should be a direct quote. In this case, they are following that standard. It’s a direct quote of Dr. Kaiping Yu who worked on the research.
It also happens to make for a very catchy headline.

I keep seeing people saying that Reddit will be dead when this or that happens. I’ve seen a handful of those things come to pass already and reddit it doing just fine.
Most people don’t care. They will continue using it. It will survive.

That’s not exactly inspiring or fulfilling to me, because we’ll all do that. (metaphorically… I don’t actually want to be buried myself)

The fact that Trump or any of his family will never see the inside of a cell is the single largest thing that destroyed my faith in humanity.

I’ve been using “genuinely” more and more in place of “literally” when I want to be, well, literal.

Language evolves and, more ever than Merriam-Webster, the speakers and writers get to decide what words mean. While that does apply to you not wanting it mean that, you are swimming against the current in this case.

Tbh, a five year old phone can absolutely be high end. Mine is four years old and I absolutely consider it high end.

Thankfully for Gamestop, the market of people interested in buying physical game discs is larger than you alone.

The rise of id scanning technology is not a coincidence.
You could auto download channels with YouTube-DL, which can sort them automatically into folders that Jellyfin is pointed to as a YT Kids library, then make the kids an account that can only access that Jellyfin library.

For me it wasn’t just “an app”. Your launcher defines your entire phone experience. I had used Nova for so long and tweaked it juuust the way I liked it. To me, that was my phone. It was daunting to try and switch.

Used Nova for close to ten years. Switched last year to Kvaesitso.
I recommend everyone still using Nova to look into options and switch. It’s not as scary as it seems.

I don’t think it’s a here or there problem, I think it’s a human nature problem tbh.
Honestly this is the simple answer. My partner and I needed to access the same files often enough that we started using a NAS before I even got into self hosting. In fact, really, the NAS was my gateway drug haha.

This isn’t enshittification, though.
I’ve cut down my subscriptions by a lot over the past few years, and I’ve gotten very close to what I consider a minimum. Whenever possible, I like to buy outright.
However, surely you can understand how not every product can function as a one time purchase. For something like a password manager, they are providing an ongoing service. They are storing and serving your data.
You can self host, sure, and I’m doing a lot of that lately. But not everyone has the capacity or desire to.
All that said, this leadership shakeup is concerning and I think I’ll be migrating to Proton, since I already have a Duo plan.
