Hey to those in here thinking about getting a firearm - please factor into your budget ammunition and semi regular training - once a month or every two months at a minimum, it’s a depreciating skill, trust me. and don’t neglect your cardio and first aid knowledge!

    Sincerely, a neighbor

Good… good, Let the gentrification of the firearms communites continue. Let white nationalist have nothing for themselves. Let them realize that they have lost it all to actual Americans.

Learn standard life savings techniques in case your fellow protestor get injured while using their 1A. Learn your firearms in case your fellow community members need backup.

    Organize.

      Learn standard life savings techniques…

Good stuff to know in general. There’s a free online first aid class called Stop The Bleed. Like the name implies, it gets straight to the point and tells you how to provide immediate care for someone with a major bleed until someone with more training can show up and take over.

How is this “Oniony?” Maybe regarding liberals, but leftists have never been anti-gun (see e.g. the Black Panthers).

Also, there’s a well-known reason for this that is plainly obvious to anyone who has been keeping up on US news over the past year.

      This doesn’t belong here.

Same thing is happening in EU. 10 years ago most shooting courses were full of bald neo nazi dudes, but now it’s mostly liberals and leftists who want to protect themselves.

Russia trying to rape and murder a neigbouring country and USA going berserk definitely gave a lot of people the nudge to train and arm themselves (though legal gun ownership options are very limited).

The Black Panthers incident that you’re referring to:

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulford_Act

The Mulford Act is a 1967 California statute which prohibits public carrying of loaded firearms without a permit.[2] Named after Republican assemblyman Don Mulford and signed into law by governor of California Ronald Reagan, the law was initially crafted with the goal of disarming members of the Black Panther Party, which was conducting armed patrols of Oakland neighborhoods in what would later be termed copwatching.[3][4] They garnered national attention after Black Panthers members, bearing arms, marched upon the California State Capitol to protest the bill.[5][6]

But also, going back prior to that:

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_night_special

The earliest law prohibiting inexpensive handguns was enacted in Tennessee, in the form of the “Army and Navy Law”, passed in 1879, shortly after the 14th amendment and Civil Rights Act of 1875; previous laws invalidated by the constitutional amendment had stated that black freedmen could not own or carry any manner of firearm. The Army and Navy Law prohibited the sale of “belt or pocket pistols, or revolvers, or any other kind of pistols, except army or navy pistols”, which were prohibitively expensive for black freedmen and poor whites to purchase.[21] These were large pistols in .36 caliber (“navy”) or .44 caliber (“army”), and were the military issue cap and ball black-powder revolvers used during the Civil War by both Union and Confederate ground troops. The effect of the law was to restrict handgun possession to the upper economic classes.[22]

The next major attempt to regulate inexpensive firearms was the Gun Control Act of 1968, which used the “sporting purposes” test and a points system to exclude many small, inexpensive handguns which had been imported from European makers such as Röhm, located in Germany.

Well…I’m agreeing that it happened and was a factor, but also pointing out that the “don’t let black people have guns” practice predated the Black Panthers stuff by a considerable amount of time.

The damage is already done. The left have gone so far to ban nearly every firearm, put up barriers and fees for purchasing, use gun buybacks to get the poor less armed instead of reinforcing training or encouraging proper handling now the right are well armed and are filling the ranks of ICE to trample on Americans rights.

Then why do far left states ban every form of an AR-15 or anything with a threaded barrel? Why would they ban standard capacity magazines? Why not require licensing, additional training and qualifications?

Oh yeah, because the far left politicians are fed lies from the billionaires that these laws will protect when it reality it just sets us up to be controlled by the far fascist right.

People like Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Bloomberg and Epstein lobbied these stupid politicians to make us weaker and start repeating the exact same talking points like “look that guy has a gUn PeRsOnAliTy!!!”

          Whoops!

It’s not even that hard to get guns here in Canada. I do not get what this US gun idiocy is all about.

Also, its liberals doing those things, not the Left. I really wish Americans would take the 30 seconds it takes to learn the difference. Its absolutely exhausting to constantly have to correct and explain.

Canadian gun culture and American gun culture is very very different. Unless you are on a range or hunting, you cannot have your firearm loaded or even unlocked in Canada. Most guns are limited to 5 rounds in the magazine and there are strict regulations around barrel length. Canada also has a loose gun registry for many of the firearms sold. Canada doesn’t have stand your ground or castle laws but genuine self defense is often okay after lengthy court processes.

You have to keep explaining it because you guys keep trying to shift the definition around. The way everyone else has always understood it, “Left” was always short for “Left-wing” and is the umbrella term for everything on the left end of the political spectrum. “Liberal”, “Socialist”, “Communist”, etc, are all subsets of “Left”.

Liberalism has always included free markets and isn’t the left. It’s only the US dichotomy of liberal vs. conservative and the volume and reach their media has that confuses the issue.

No, nobody is changing the definitions, and liberal has never been part of the left. Wtf do you mean we keep changing it? Who is we? The actual leftists for as long as I’ve been alive who keep telling you liberals that you aren’t leftists? The countless books and essays and political figures from longer than I’ve been alive who are telling you that you aren’t part of the left? I mean MLK and Malcolm X immediately come to mind, so how is this a change in definition at all?

I’m sorry you don’t like the common colloquial understanding of the term “Left” but that’s what it means to the common person who isn’t steeped in political theory. Hence why leftist on here have to constantly point out that “Liberal” doesn’t fit their definition of “Left”.

No, its not OUR DEFINITION, it is THE DEFINITION, and American liberals keep trying to change it and then wonder why leftists wont vote for their candidates. Also only in the US is that the common term for the left. Because y’all dont want to read or learn anything and then dont understand why people get annoyed with you about it.

I really wish Americans would take the 30 seconds it takes to learn the difference. Its absolutely exhausting to constantly have to correct and explain.

Fascist elites use the media to destroy the meaning of any word that poses a threat to power. “Liberal”, “Woke” “antifa” and countless others have all been deliberately beaten to death by repeated deliberate misuse. When a well meaning articulate thinker tries to discuss any matter of importance and uses a correct word, they find the person being spoken too misunderstands the topic because words mean something different to them.

Articulate intellectual discussion can’t disseminate to the public and compete with all the major news sources distorting language. Orwell warned us, but too many people can’t read.

Cry more you servile little pig. Half of the problem in this country with weapons is how accessible they are. Fancying yourself to be the “good guy with a gun” makes you look like a fucking moron in the face of every piece of evidence that suggests the overabundance of weapons in this country is the reason we see so much needless violence.

Why are you putting words in my mouth? The police wouldn’t even need firearms in the way they do if it wasn’t for the incredible amount of weapons in this country. This is how most reasonable countries around the world work. Firearms are relegated to extreme situations and most law enforcement officers don’t have access to them. Not to mention most countries require what is equivalent to a couple year degree of schooling to be a LEO
