It’s absolutely ridiculous that someone would threaten to change a tariff regime after negotiating one a few month ago. What’s the point of any agreement with this guy if it’s null and void the moment he changes his mind?
That said (loudly), we need more European digital solution that don’t suck like their American counterparts. Maybe use the money from the digital tax to fund the development and deployment of alternatives to Facebook, X, WhatsApp, Amazon, Google, etc.
Or don’t build an alternative EU online cesspool but instead invest the money in education…
I sincerely hope this is what Europe does. Tech is funding fascism around the world, including Europe.
