Tl;dr: 75-yo old woman attacks the employees over a sandwich, rips hair from one of them, put that hair in her purse, calls the police and dies.
At that point, two other employees intervened, and as they were pulled apart, a “chunk of hair” was pulled from the shift lead’s head, “leaving a raw area.”
Once separated, the employees got behind the counter and Grayson sat down, taking a phone call. She was seen picking up the shift lead’s hair and putting it in her bag, police said.
That really sounds to me like there was some underlying health issue and the customer lost absolute control of herself as she succumbed to it.
Definitely psychosis
That may be the case, but there are countless videos of people committing felonies in restaurants/fast food chains because someone made a mistake on their order. There must be a lot of underlying health issues in the US 😆
Didn’t we literally just have a headline that 90%+ of US adults do not seek healthcare because they can’t afford it?
There’s something called Penrose’s law: the prison population plus mental care population is a constant. So a country that doesn’t take care of mental health needs to handle it as crime. Pretty simple when you think about it, but the dude had stats to back up his assertion.
Living in the US is a health issue lol, especially mental health, especially if you have too few decimal places in your bank account.
Most of those videos don’t feature a healthy young worker literally beating an elderly woman to death.
This is not the place to submit your creative writing exercises.
Neither does this one
or because they imagined a mistake on their order.
Yep, that’s exactly the conclusion prosecutors reached if you read all the way to the bottom.
People who don’t read the article need to just be site-wide banned. They provide nothing of value to any community.
“This is a heartbreaking situation for everyone involved and especially for Ms. Grayson’s family,” the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said in an update on the case Friday.
And not especially heart breaking for the employee who got their hair ripped put by a psycho and then had to watch that psycho doe and then live for months under the threat of having to go to jail for being attacked?
I’d say the cunt is fine, the family likely is relieved she’s gone, I feel for the basic income employee
and I thought I’d die knowing the craziest story from Tim Horton’s featured a group fight and a baby raccoon wielded as a weapon… but no

“99 Rideau raccoon fight” should help narrow the search 😉 but it wasn’t “wielded as a weapon” so much as produced at the scene of a fight
99 Rideau raccoon fight
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rideau_Street_McDonald’s
This article is fucking gold.
For nearly all of its history, the restaurant was open 24 hours a day, and it attracted customers who came from bars and night clubs in the area. The restaurant’s floor was often dirty, and people formed crowds rather than lines at the registers.
Customers witnessed drug use and sexual acts in a long, narrow hallway to the bathrooms dubbed “The Hallway to Hell” and isolated from the rest of the restaurant.
criminals used it as an easy escape from police
The restaurant was a site of frequent stabbings, drug use, liquor licence violations, violent attacks, sexual assaults, and many other criminal acts
“The video begins in the middle of the chaos, with young men punching, kicking, choking, and knocking or dragging each other to the ground as onlookers shout and jeer”. Shortly after the start of the fight, a man appears on screen and can be seen pulling out a baby raccoon from his sweater. The man waves the raccoon around casually as a cigarette droops from his mouth.
Other viral videos of unusual altercations were filmed at the restaurant, such as customers beating each other with “Wet Floor” signs
"In fact, even as I draft this letter, another individual is recovering from a stabbing that occurred at that address yesterday.
In 2024, a Cantonese restaurant named 99 VIP Seafood signed a lease and became the location’s next tenant.[14] It opened in September 2025 and closed in March 2026.[15][16] McDonald’s Canada is open to reopening in downtown Ottawa, the CEO said in November 2024
In November 2025, it was announced that a new McDonald’s location was set to open at 377 Dalhousie Street, at the intersection of Dalhousie and Rideau Street. The location officially opened in December of the same year,[18] notably with the owners of the franchise commemorating the occasion by making a donation to “a local raccoon rescue”
I have a skateboard from a local skate company that did a draw up of the Mcdonalds Racoon. It’s a staple in Ottawa.
There’s also the Wendy’s(?) projectile alligator incident.
Hook me up brah
in my mind he was holding it like Steve Carrel holds the granade in the Anchorman fight scene hahahaha

Why isn’t Brick Tamlin president by now?
You may be thinking of McDonald’s.
yes, my memory is no longer in mint condition
Technically that was in a McDs but point taken lol
yes I as telling my wife about this post and she reminded me it was a McDonalds … d"uh!
Is Timmy’s the Waffle House of the North?
“a Tim Horton’s in Indiana”
North enough.
Yeah, we don’t like them up here
not as far as that. but the quality and clientele has declined steeply in the past decade and a half.
speaking for Canadian ones. idk about ones south of the border
The clientele is the same as it always was.
They can also have declined.
But it hasn’t. It’s always been the same. The people who were very loyal to Tim Hortons in the 80s and 90s and 00s haven’t moved on to another ubiquitous coffee chain. There aren’t any others to move on to for the vast majority of the country.
I think you are speaking of quantity while I am speaking of quality.
Timmy’s is also in Waffle House territory.
Crazy that Indiana has a Singh Horton’s.
Jebus. I was gonna make some snark about boomers, but her actions do it all for me. On the upshot, she’ll never treat staff like that again!
“The customer is always right.”
As someone who once worked retail, I hate that fucking statement.
In matters of taste.
Not in every single way… I hate how the twisting of this phrase has resulted in abuse of an entire sectors workforce.
Sorry you were one of them too :(
That in matters of taste bit was added recently, started circulating on tiktok. There’s no evidence of it being part of the original saying.
I had to look this up.
In short, point to you for your correctness on the origin.
I’ve been hearing that since the early 2000s at least. So if it is wrong the origin isn’t tiktok.
Yeah, that’s why when I eat out or buy something I strive to be polite.
we just need to normalize saying the whole thing.
“The customer is always right in matters of taste.”
“The customer is always right in matters of taste.”
“The customer is always right in matters of taste.”The customer is certainly not right if they’re assaulting someone.
And my hair stylist has talked me out of bad decisions more than once, if I had good taste I wouldn’t be paying an expert
Eh. Even then. The hair stylist should offer advice, but if someone really wants a bad cut? Their body. Their choice.
Thats because the full quote is always cut off. The original quote is “The customer is always right in matters of taste”, which is true. Its just been co-opted to justify psychotic customers.
As a person who worked in retail, and managed and owned retail shops, I never allowed that nonsense to rule my stores.
Especially when I own it, that shop is my Kingdom, and I am the Emperor. What I say goes, and the very LAST person that makes decisions in my shop is the customer, and I am not at all afraid to say that directly to a customers face, and I have.
I have opened a shop with the product I have created, and I ALLOW you to enter and partake. If you can’t appreciate the access to my product, and behave accordingly, your access to that product will end, and you will NEVER experience it again.
Do not EVER tell me “the customer is always right” in MY own shop. You enter at MY pleasure, and I don’t care what you want.
Found Amy Bouzaglo’s alt account
She was seen picking up the shift lead’s hair and putting it in her bag, police said.
Was she a witch or something?

Hiding evidence
Nah, she was just collecting her post battle loot.
She knew a shop keeper that would buy anything from her.
Medical records obtained by investigators after her death showed she had recently been treated for congestive heart failure, hypertension, shortness of breath, and other complaints related to cardiovascular issues.
But not “being a cunt”, so I guess that was her decision, not a medical condition.
Seriously, who curses at minimum-wage teenage workers doing their jobs and physically attacks them!? The world is a slightly better place now…
She may have behaved rudely, but nobody should be getting beaten to death for being rude.
how about you read the actual goddamn article before commenting?
She wasn’t beaten to death for being rude. She attacked a manager for telling her to leave after berating a 17 year old employee. She punched the manger in the face, yanked her to the ground by the hair and continued punching her while on the ground. The manager only got away after the chunk of hair she was being held by was ripped out of her scalp.
She died from a heart attack because she started a fight with a 20 year old girl while having congestive heart failure. The manager even brought her a cup of water to a person who just assaulted her because they were worried about them.
She wasn’t and didn’t.
She wasn’t. Read the summary or my comment if you’re not going to read the article.
miserable people who are dying of health issues and whose daily life nothing but despair and pain.
that’s who.
my dad was the same way as this lady. spend the last 5 years of his life slowly dying and taking it out on other people.
Is “taking it out on other people” the same as physically attacking them? Because she could have killed these young people if they hadn’t defended themselves and helped each other out. She may have snuffed out their entire lives because she felt shitty.
I genuinely feel bad for your dad and for this lady. It’s terrible and it’s unfair. But, like anyone dealing with something chronic, it’s also their responsibility to manage. If they can’t, they have no business being in society with other people…
just because it’s their responsibility to manage it doesn’t mean they can manager it. or their loved ones can.
do you think we should lock everyone up who is dealing with physical and mental problems that may overwhelm them? throw my dad in jail because what, he’s in so much pain and depression that he can’t think straight?
what about my mom who had dementia? oh right, well yeah we did put her in ‘jail’ in a full time care facility, but it also cost us $12,000/mo.
do you think we should lock everyone up who is dealing with physical and mental problems that may overwhelm them? throw my dad in jail because what, he’s in so much pain and depression that he can’t think straight?
If they’re going around attacking people yeah. People like that need to be handled, not allowed to go around inflicting themselves on everyone else. It sucks but minimum wage workers aren’t trained or compensated to be carers for the mentally unwell.
“carers for the mentally unwell” get minimum wage too.
Man that’s awful, I feel for you. My dad spent the last five years of his life fighting for every gulp of air in miserable pain and took it out on absolutely no one. Well, unless he happened to see someone park in a handicapped spot without a sticker. Then there was hell to pay.
wow cool. your dad was better than my dad.
too bad I didn’t get a choice of what kind of dad to have. Nobody does.

I dont know, out of everyone involved, you seem the most like a miserable old cunt taking shit out on other people with your nasty, undeserved, unwarranted comment.
Projections a hell of a drug, I guess.

I wish you would give up this trite and boring exercise.
Oh, did my comment make you feel personally assaulted and attacked?
Why is it whenever I see your comments you’re being a little pants pisser. I just do not understand what your problem is. You must be the most miserable person I’ve ever seen on lemmy.
my problem is that you read my comments, clearly.

I wanna save this meme but it’s so niche 😂 especially since I don’t live in the south anymore.
Seriously, who curses at minimum-wage teenage workers doing their jobs and physically attacks them!? The world is a slightly better place now…
old, kareny cunts who are used to getting placated and getting what they want by tantruming.
What is the law regarding elder abuse in the USA?
Any kind of elder abuse should be dealt with swiftly and harshly worldwide. She should be punished for assaulting an elder at the very least.
Sometimes america just don’t make no sense.
I swear to god I wish idiots that comment without reading the fucking story would get permabanned.
Because at this point its just bad faith at best, and downright trolling at worst.
Did you read the article? The elder was the one who carried out the assault.
You asking questions we know the answer to?
Try reading sometime.
Its not abuse to defend yourself from assault.
I like the phrasing in my employee handbook, self defense is not an act of violence.
The elder assaulted her lol
You mean elder abuse as in the elderly person abused someone, right?
Drinking the coffee is punishment enough.
What TF were they considering charging the employee with? Toxic hair?
I’ll beat her stupid ass, you should consider this a legitimate threat, I’m more than close enough, use some of those resources you don’t want to.
Was she always like this, and getting that pissed stressed her heart, or was she irrational from some health problem that then finished her off? I had a relative with heart problems who had a widowmaker while out in a field getting mad at a stuck tractor. He had been told “you gotta stop taking that tractor out there. it always gets stuck and then you get really mad and you’re going to have a heart attack.” At least it happened fast, I guess.
So, did she die like she lived (angry, violent), like he did, or is it sadder?
Nope sounds right, sounds like she had heart failure already and this kicked it off. She wanted to go out the way she lived, as a Karen.
Holy shit. That’s just wild.
